学生S目前就读静安区某重点中学初二八年级,英语成绩还算可以,不过感觉在口语和阅读方面比较薄弱,跟外教一对一沟通下来,确实如此,外教表示在口语、词汇、阅读等方面都亟待加强。虽然家长有送学生去澳大利亚留学的打算,但是这一切还要看下学期的英语情况。目前沟通的情况来讲,留学的准备工作尚不充分,学生和家长还不知道澳大利亚AEAS考试。今天我们安排的外教N来自布里斯班Brisbane,在澳大利亚就是老师,一口标准的澳洲腔英式英语,常被学生称为“发音最清楚的外教”。

交流主要由外教N来引导,以问答为主:
Are you going to live in Australia next year?

What city are you going to live in?
I maybe live in Melbourne.

How old are you?
Fourteen

What grade are you in?
Grade eight.

What are you interested in?
Math.

What else do you like in your spare time?
I like playing basketball.

Do you like Yaoming? Is he a good player?
Yes.

Is Yaoming as good as Michael Jordan?
Yaoming is better.

Do you often watch basketball on TV?
Only a little.

Are you very busy with your homework?
Not very busy.

What school do you go to? What’s the name of your school?
Shixi Middle School.

一串问题下来,外教已经初步把握了学生的口语能力和英语基础,同时以两个生词的教学示范了教学方法:vocabulary, foreigner

考虑到学生以前已经学过一些SBS内容,外教建议从SBS第三册开始,虽然学生可能已经学了很多了,但是未必掌握牢靠了,不一定会使用,所以外教打算通过教材来系统性地提高学生的口语、阅读和词汇。根据家长的要求,外教会穿插:澳大利亚的历史文化、风土人情、高中生活等内容,并且会纠正学生的发音。

第一堂课被迫不及待地定在后天周日上午,当然最后我们不忘送出圣诞礼物:)
